Jordan grew up on Manhattan’s Upper West Side after he was born in New York City on February 21, 1979. He attended Calhoun School in Manhattan and continued his education at Sarah Lawrence College. He then dropped out after two years to form a comedy duo with his roommate, Rebecca Drysdale (future Writer Peele).
He was determined to become a puppeteer while in college, but honing his skills while in school he turned to acting instead. Jordan began his career as an impromptu comedian and found success with bands such as Amsterdam-based Boom Chicago and Chicago’s Second City before moving into television.
He was a cast member on MADTV for five seasons (2009-2013). and was loved because of his talent for parodying celebrities among which are James Brown, Ja Rule, Morgan Freeman, Montel Williams. Key & Peele is said to have been born after meeting his future comedy partner Keegan Michael Key on the set of the series.
